1. Who we are

TagTalk is operated by Inverse, LLC (“TagTalk,” “we,” “us”), located at PO Box 444, Richmond, Virginia 23218, USA. We provide an AI-assisted Tagalog and Filipino language-learning platform that connects learners with real instructors. This Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

2. Information we collect

• Account details — name, email address, password, and role (learner or instructor).
• Profile information — for instructors, this includes bio, headline, languages, specialties, and photo.
• Learning content — your chats, journal entries, audio/video recordings, questions, lessons, and progress data.
• Messages — direct messages and files shared between learners and instructors.
• Payment & transaction data — when you subscribe or buy a package, our payment provider (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We do not store full card numbers. We retain transaction records such as your subscription status, billing history, amounts, dates, and payout records. Instructors who receive payouts provide identity and bank details directly to Stripe for verification (KYC) under Stripe Connect.
• Usage & device data — pages visited, actions taken, approximate location, IP address, browser and device information, and session activity, collected to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

3. Cookies & similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to run the Service (for example, to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure) and to understand and improve how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works. We do not use the Service to serve third-party advertising.

4. How we use your information

• To provide, personalize, and improve the learning experience, including AI feedback and lessons based on your activity.
• To connect learners and instructors and to enable messaging and content sharing.
• To process memberships, teacher packages, payouts, and refunds.
• To send service and transactional messages such as verification codes, notifications, and payment receipts.
• To monitor, secure, and troubleshoot the Service and to prevent fraud and abuse.
• To comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

5. AI processing

To provide corrections, lessons, and reports, your learning content may be processed by third-party AI providers. We share only what is needed to generate these features, and we do not sell your content. AI output can be inaccurate and should not be treated as professional or authoritative translation.

6. How we share information

We share personal information only as needed to run TagTalk:

• With instructors you choose to connect with, subject to your per-instructor privacy settings.
• With service providers (processors) that operate the Service on our behalf, including Stripe (payments and instructor payouts), our AI provider(s) (to generate feedback and lessons), our email delivery provider, our cloud hosting and file-storage provider, and analytics tools.
• For legal reasons — to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, the public, or the Company.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information. Stripe acts as an independent controller of the payment data it collects; see Stripe's privacy policy for details.

7. Your privacy controls & rights

You control what each connected instructor can see — chats, journals, lessons, or stats — through your per-instructor privacy settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. Users in the Philippines have rights under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and may also lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

8. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. We retain certain records longer where required for legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes (for example, transaction and payout records). When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where required by law.

10. International transfers

We and our service providers may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers of personal information.

11. Children

Free features are intended for users aged 13 and older; paid features and payouts require users to be at least 18. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here, revise the “last updated” date, and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
